Structure & Procedure
The telc A2 exam (Start German 2 / telc German A2) consists of a written and an oral part and tests all four language skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
By successfully passing the exam, you demonstrate that you can communicate confidently and appropriately in everyday situations in German.

Written Part
The written exam consists of three sections:
Listening (3 sections, approx. 20 minutes)
Participants listen to three different audio texts and complete related tasks.
Reading (3 sections, 50 minutes)
Participants work on texts of varying difficulty levels and complete tasks such as matching or multiple-choice questions.
Writing (2 tasks, approx. 30 minutes)
Participants write simple texts, such as short messages or personal notes.
There are no breaks between the sections of the written exam.
Oral Part
The oral exam lasts approximately 15 minutes and consists of three tasks:
Speaking (3 parts, approx. 15 minutes)
Participants introduce themselves, respond to given situations, and discuss a topic together with others.
The exam usually takes place in pairs and includes no preparation time.

The exam is conducted exclusively in paper-based form. It is not possible to take individual modules separately.
