Exam Structure
The telc B2 exam in Frankfurt assesses German language skills at an advanced level. It consists of a written and an oral part, both covering different language skills.
Written Exam
The written part consists of four sections:
Reading
Participants read several texts and answer questions about them.
Language Elements
The language elements section tests grammar and vocabulary skills. In the writing part, participants produce a text on a given topic, such as an opinion or a formal letter.
There are no breaks between the individual tasks in the written exam.
Listening
In the listening section, participants listen to various audio recordings, such as conversations or interviews, and then answer questions about them.
Oral Part
The oral exam consists of three parts: in the first task, participants introduce themselves; in the second task, they respond to a given situation; and in the third task, they discuss a topic with a partner.
The focus is on communication and interaction.
Special Features of the Exam
The exam is offered in paper-based format and can also be taken as a partial exam. Successful candidates receive the telc German B2 certificate, which confirms their ability to communicate independently in complex everyday situations.
